A few months ago, a customer approached us to design and manufacture a machine that would safely install their barcode tags to animal hides. They were previously manually punching a hole and installing their tags using a time consuming and labor intensive two-step process. After a few different revisions we completed the prototype shown below that allowed them to punch a hole through the hide and install the tag with a push of a button.
